Photographer Al Pike

.......grew up in Little Falls Minnesota living less than a two minute drive from the boyhood home of aviator Charles Lindbergh. During his high school years he was a member of the Civil Air Patrol, and upon graduation joined the United States Air Force, and learned to fly in an Air Force Aero Club. Eyesight prevented him from pursuing the Congressional nomination to the Air Force Academy he received, and a flying career in the Air Force. It was while in the service that he purchased his first 35mm camera. Flying and photography has been a continued calling.

After attending Northwestern University he had a long career as a board certified prosthetist which saw him in a number of national leadership roles that included being elected President of the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists. In 2012 he retired from the practice of prosthetics to pursue his continuing interest in photography wanting to share his love of aviation through the lens of a camera.

His aviation themed digital photography has won awards, been published in magazines and calendars, on display in galleries, and a  six months long exhibition of his aviation photography was on display at the Government Center in his hometown of Little Falls MN.

He now lives with his wife Carol Ann in Minnetonka Minnesota and has been a longtime member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, and in recent years a member of the International Society for Aviation Photography.

Print orders are processed by White House Custom Colour the same  photo lab used by professional Minnesota photographers.
